Improve Your Golf Game

Taking your clubs, you go out to enjoy a good round of golf. Are you able to satisfy your expectations? How many times does this happen. There would have been times you feel you could have saved some of your strokes and made a better score? Read on to find out how to save about 5 strokes and have better scores.

  1. You need to eat properly before leaving for a round of golf or for that matter a tournament whatever. This is because long term energy is required to take you through the whole round. The diet should consist of both carbohydrates and proteins. This also has this condition that it could be any meal of the day for that matter.
  2. The ideal bowl of breakfast should comprise of something like a bowl of oatmeal, a piece of fruit, one or tow eggs and juice could be substituted for fruit. Either this or food having the same nutritional components should be consumed.
  3. You need to be adequately warmed up before you start hitting your balls. In some cases players show up for a round only minute before play a few practice shorts and then start up. But this actually not there warm up.
  4. A time gap of 30 minutes is advisable before start of play, when you should begin your warm up. There needs to be a good amount of basic body stretches done which will aid you in playing freely. After stretches, toe touches and partial squats are also a good idea. Following this go on and hit a few wedges, following this pattern will definitely give you better results on the course.
  5. Drinking an adequate amount of water approximately a gallon helps you digest your pre game meal. This also gives you a better and more focused performance on the course. This should not be taken lightly as dehydration can become acute and energy loss is great, this will affect your focus and cause fatigue eventually. Make it a point to drink water after every hole.
  6. Stretching is not required only when you feel that your muscles have cramped up. This should be a constant feature.
  7. You need to keep moving around and flexing your muscles so that you remain alert and not start feeling down and out. Many players often complain of tight lower backs and shoulders etc during or after the round. This cant just be left at complains can it? Something needs to be done if you have to improve your game. If you follow proper directions and keep stretching your muscles regularly then you will definitely notice betterment in your swinging abilities.
  8. You need to keep a light snack handy as you play.

This does not mean that you have to have a full course menu along with your beer. This means that you should have with you nutrition bars and fruits to reenergize you after every 4- 6 holes. This is essential to keep your body alert as hunger pangs will draw your concentration away for the game totally. You could be going great guns in the first round but somehow seem to lose it all by the late rounds, how? Stay alert to the needs of your body and nutrition is one very important one.
